The name Pella holds a deep significance to Amanda. It began as her childhood nickname, a reminder of days running barefoot in Papua New Guinea with her siblings, immersed in wonder and exploration. Today, it has evolved into a symbol of purpose as Pella Wellness Group, standing for Psychotherapy, Education, Living, Love and Awareness.

Amanda's journey to creating Pella Wellness is woven with lived experiences that deeply influence her work. She’s navigated the complexities of neurodiversity, loss and the lingering effects of narcissistic relationships. These personal challenges have given her a profound empathy and insight, allowing her to connect with people on a genuine level. She understands what it feels like to confront life’s hard edges and to emerge stronger and more self-aware. This understanding fuels Pella’s holistic and integrative approach, honouring each person’s emotional, cognitive, spiritual and social wellbeing.

Pella Wellness is a safe haven for survivors, victims and neurodiverse individuals, with Amanda focusing solely on their healing and growth. She brings a trauma-informed, empathetic approach, honouring the resilience of those navigating complex life experiences

Psychotherapy.
The heart of Pella Wellness lies in Gestalt psychotherapy, which takes a creative and relational approach to therapy. It’s about meeting each individual where they are, fostering awareness, personal freedom and self-direction. Through Gestalt, Amanda helps clients understand how they make meaning from their experiences, empowering them to navigate challenges and embrace their unique paths.

Education
Pella is committed to early intervention and prevention, empowering individuals with emotional literacy and resilience. Psychoeducation helps clients understand the brain’s remarkable ability to adapt and offers tools for change, fostering confidence and self-esteem.

Living
Life demands constant adaptation, and Amanda knows first-hand the impact of change. Pella Wellness supports individuals, families, and communities as they navigate life’s shifts, creating a safe space to explore and make sense of change.

Love
At Pella, love is seen as the essence of connection—to ourselves and to others. Amanda’s journey through relationships and self-discovery informs her ability to support clients in understanding their own experiences of love, helping them cultivate self-acceptance and compassion.

Pella operates in the beautiful Brisbane Bayside and West End and offers online therapy for those that are unable to make it in person. 

Practice Hours:
Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with after-hours appointments offered by special request.
